We were more than a little starry-eyed for Thao and the Get Down Stay Down before Newport, but after that weekend, we’re completely head over heels. Thao wowed (really, completely wowed) us at On The Boat, and continued on to play one of the best sets we saw at Newport — which is saying a lot. We were lucky enough to be able to grab a playlist of songs the band listens to while on tour, and even though we thought it wasn’t possible, it’s hands down one of the coolest playlists we’ve ever had the pleasure of pressing play on, with everything from Mavis Staples to Fugazi.
