Garry Rogers:  There are many additional reasons for ecology’s failure to deal with the current global ecological crisis, but these are the big ones.  I would add that ecology has failed to connect with non specialists.  People don’t really know what ecology is or realize the importance of ecological knowledge.  This helps explains limitations one and two.
