This year for Father’s Day, I’m conjuring up images of a Sunday spent in the sun (please indulge me on this, England weather gods), a lengthy dog walk and a ‘treat yo’self’ meal with the family. I’m imagining a beautiful print to gift, along with a bag of Dad’s favorite Macadamia nuts and a new shirt because he just deserves it.
Here are some pretty sweet Father’s Day gift ideas:
- What is it about Father's Day or, in fact, any offbeat celebration that means most gifts end up ‘for the house’? This beautiful personalised print (£25) from norma&dorothy is top of the list for me at the moment. We’re in the process of doing up the family house and I think this would add such a sweet touch to our dining room, which has a relaxed French vintage vibe about it. https://www.normadorothy.com/personalised-print-father-s-day-botanical
- For the beverage-lovin’ Dad, a beer brewing kit is a pretty great gift idea. I’ve gifted these to multiple male family members in the past few months and with summer in arm’s reach, this is ideal.
- If you don’t buy your Dad clothes as a gift, is he even your Dad? I really like these short sleeved shirts (£22) from Next - ideal for when he next complains that he has nothing to wear to the family dinner he doesn’t want to go to!
- A beautiful timepiece is always a great gift option: I’m truly obsessed with this Larsson & Jennings PVD-plated watch (£225). The black-on-black looks so damn good and will add a sleek and refined edge to his look.
- This Man Cave Essentials Kit (£45) from Liberty is a dreamy addition to any man’s bathroom. Housed in a beautiful Liberty Hera print wash bag, the kit includes £166 worth of products from much-loved brands including Aveda, Byredo, Dr. Jackson and Kiehl’s amongst others.
- For the more understated gift, a personalised card is always a great choice. Often us Chai kids just gift Dad a card and a new mug for his work kitchen but as he’s now retired, I don’t think that’ll cut it this year…! This World’s Best Dad card (£4.75) from norma&dorothy is so detailed and the personalised flag just adds a little something-something.
- A Spotify Premium subscription (£9.99 per month) would make a great intangible present for the music loving Papas of the world. There’s only so much shuffle a man can take, eh?
- Along the same lines of a music subscription, we’re currently looking into the logistics of introducing an Amazon Echo Dot (£49.99) into the household. Voice-controlled, the Echo Dot is a device that can play music, control smart devices, read the news, set alarms and more. I’m so down for being able to control the lights and music before I’ve even made it downstairs!
- With the Gucci reign continuing strong, what better time than to introduce a Gucci wallet to your Dad’s life? My Dad swears by his Louis Vuitton wallet but I adore this embossed leather one (£390).
- Last but not least, can you get any more Dad than with a Halfords gift card? Treat him to a little something towards his beloved car, his adored bike or his man cave garage.

10 Gift Ideas for Father’s Day
6.6.17 My favorite memories as a child are those of Mondays. Six hours at school would fly by in a haze of daisy-chain making, pretending to be a Spice Girl in the playground, reading Biff & Chip books in the morning and logging the pages in my reading record, dreaming and making up odd craft creations to present to Mum. And then, we’d drive the twenty minutes home and Dad would be there!! We could go and feed the ducks, play football in the garden, read another Biff & Chip book, run riot underneath his pool table! Dad only had one day off work and I absolutely loved those Mondays. This year for Father’s Day, I’m conjuring up images of a Sunday spent in the sun (please indulge me on this, England weather gods), a lengthy dog walk and a ‘treat yo’self’ meal with the family.
