1, 2, 3, Smile!

By A Happy Mum @A_Happy_Mum
You probably can tell from my blog that I love to take pictures.
I might not have taken any photography lessons before and I don't even know how to operate a DSLR properly. Still, that doesn't stop me from taking countless number of pictures every so often. It's like, there are so many sweet, beautiful and unexpected moments in life that if you lose out on the opportunity to capture them there and then, they're gone forever.
The saying that "Photographs may fade while memories live forever in our hearts", well it's half true and half not. While I believe that the heart is the best safe keeper of happy memories, it's also a fact that the older we grow, the more impossible it becomes to remember all the things of the past. Besides, with digital film, yellowish pictures can always be replaced with new ones.
Becoming a mom gave me all the more reason to take more pictures. To remember all the awesome moments I spent with my girl. To remember all the cute, ugly, silly, out of the blue things she did. To remember that no matter how old she grows, she's always the sweet baby deep down in my heart.

This morning, we woke up and were lazing in bed.
Angel spotted the alarm clock on the window ledge, picked it up and said "Mummy, let's take a picutre!" She pressed the light button, pretended to set it on timer mode, ran back, took her doll, struck a pose and said "1, 2, 3! Smile!"
I did smile on my face but I smiled even harder in my heart.
I realised my girl does take after me in some areas and loving to take pictures is one of them. By the age of two, she has learnt to use my digital camera and go around taking all sorts of pictures. From furniture, floors and walls to dolls, friends and passer-bys, she loves taking everything. One of her favorite activity is self-taking portraits, whereby she sets the camera on timer mode and basically runs to and fro from pressing the shutter button to finding the perfect spot and striking the perfect smile.
Today, I wanted to feature some of the works of my little photographer.

Are you ready? Here I come! Oops, I must switch on the camera first!

Daddy, Mummy, Smile! Mummy says I shouldn't flash and take my own picture so close, but don't I look cute? Ssshhhhh...

I had fun doing this for half an hour all by myself and made everyone laugh! It's a great way to keep fit too, getting down, running and climbing onto the bed again and again!
I'm trying to come up with more poses, what do you think of these?
How about trying different hairstyles? Do you like my hair bunned up?

Mummy: Angel, will you come and eat?
Angel: Wait, I'm very busy right now!

Well, except the first and last picture, all the above were taken by Miss Angel Low herself.
I included this last picture because she looks like a professional photographer in the left in a cute red dress while I simply love her pose in the right one. How she learnt to pose like that at the age of two, with the fingers and head tilting, I will never know.
Oh yes, I know you can see her panties there but that's what makes pictures of kids so cute, right? So long as it's not my panties.
Back to more camera action! 1, 2, 3, SMILE!!! *waves bye*
