Nick Jonas, a member of the pop band Jonas Brothers, recently revealed on Instagram that he has contracted influenza. This unfortunate illness has led to the postponement of the Jonas Brothers’ scheduled shows in Mexico. Nick expressed his apologies to fans for the sudden change in plans and mentioned that his condition is worsening.
Nick, who is an American singer and songwriter, shared the disappointing news with his fans, explaining that the rescheduling of the shows was due to his illness. The Jonas Brothers, which includes his brothers Kevin and Joe alongside Nick, were originally set to perform in Mexico this weekend.
In a video posted on Instagram on Friday, the 31-year-old singer explained the situation. He said:
“Hey everybody, it’s Nick here. I have some not-so-fun news to share. A couple of days ago, I started feeling unwell and lost my voice when I woke up. Despite pushing through that night, my condition has progressively worsened over the past two to two and a half days. I was basically in bed all day yesterday, fever, body ache, sore throat, and a really bad cough.”

Despite seeing a doctor, Nick’s health has not improved. He added:
“I just need to recover and beat these things. I’m so sorry. I hate disappointing you guys. You do so much to support us. Many of you have traveled to attend the show. I just want to say I’m heartbroken over this. Again, I’m really sorry, but I need to focus on getting better.”
It’s clear how much Nick regrets disappointing his fans. Alongside the video, he wrote:
“Hi guys. I have come down with the nasty strain of influenza A that’s been going around, and I’m not able to sing at the moment. We always want to be able to give you guys the best show, and I’m just not able to do that for these shows in Mexico at this time.”
In the video, Nick also announced the new dates for the shows. The rescheduled performances in Mexico City will take place on August 21 and August 22, while the shows in Monterrey are set for August 24 and August 25.
