Twitterfeed – 8 Things That Make Twitter Annoying Today

An annoying Twitterfeed can be discouraging to view and participate in. If you are active on Twitter, you might have noticed some Twitterfeeds that are dense with text, lack images, and include hour-long lists of tweets.

These annoying Twitterfeeds might belong to bots, or they might be the result of someone using automation to tweet. Either way, they can be discouraging to view and participate in.

A well-designed Twitterfeed should be visually appealing and easy to read. It should also offer a variety of content, including links, images, and videos. When designing your Twitterfeed, consider what would make it enjoyable for your followers to view and participate in.

8 Annoyances On The Twitterfeed

Being Tagged on Twitter for NO Reason

This is my biggest pet peeve on Twitter. It’s usually a newbie blogger or someone trying to sell you something without knowing you. They have not generated a friendship with you and begin to tag you on posts. That’s a big NO-NO on any social media network.

Twitter Feed Facebook Posts

Why do some people on Twitter only tweet out their Facebook posts? Isn’t that the most annoying Twitter feed? (or is it just me?)

You can’t see their Facebook post links unless you are logged into Facebook most of the time (unless their posts are set to public.)

It’s a waste of time and a reason to unfollow someone or mute them out. If we wanted to be on Facebook we would be there and not on Twitter, right?

Instagram Posts With No Photos

Yes, this is another big turn-off on the Twitterfeed seeing Instagram posts with no images in the feed.  I have made a video for you to learn how to do it with IFTTT. It’s easy and quick to set up too.

And The Other Annoyances

Horoscopes for Today – Do you really want to read horoscopes on your Twitterfeed? These are another automated tweet or FB feed that gets into our Twitter stream. Another No-No annoyance!

Seeing Favorited Tweets – This is a newer feature Twitter has launched. This is where users are seeing tweets that have been favored by accounts they follow in their own timelines. What do you think of this Twitter feature?

Posts With Only @ – Have you seen these too? That’s all that’s in the posts. They are like mentions but with no words, rhyme, or reason. What is the purpose of these types of tweets other than to mention someone? It would be okay if it was TY, YW, or a short question with them. It’s a very lazy tweet.

Flooded Tweets – Ever see a new peep tweet out the same thing multi times within a short period of time? It is usually self-promotion and can get annoying on your feed. However, this is a great time to use the mute button.

Maximum Censorship  – Why does Twitter censor everything we post? The other day I was writing Fakebook about Facebook and they took down my tweet before I finished typing it. It has turned away a lot of its user base in the past several years.

Twitter Threads – These are on Twitter and are a series of connected Tweets from one person. With a thread, you can provide additional context, an update, or an extended point by connecting multiple Tweets together. Sometimes they can get confusing to follow and reply to. As you can see from Ileane they are also a time-suck for some people.

All these Twitter 🧵Threads are way too much work for me right now!

Aint nobody got time to keep clicking, and clicking, and… 😂

Twitterfeed – Which is Your Favorite?

There are several ways you can view your Twitter feed today, which way do you prefer? However, I believe the feed is now being more diluted and that’s why users are seeing less engagement.

I have been seeing more engagement on Gab groups than I do on Twitter. Twitter used to be the main driver of traffic here but it really has been dwindling down with the dilution of the feed in the past year.

Lists to Help You

If you’re like me, you find Twitter to be a cesspool of people fighting, arguing, and just generally being unproductive. However, there is a way to twitter that can help you stay out of the fray and focus on the content that is important to you.

By using Twitter lists, you can segment the people you follow into groups and only view the tweets from those groups. For example, I have a Twitter list of friends, family, news outlets, and comedians. That way, when I want to catch up with what’s going on with my friends, I can go to my Twitterfeed and only see their tweets. This helps me to be more engaged with Twitter and less annoyed.

So if you’re looking for a way to improve your Twitter experience, give twitter lists a try!
