Make the Jump To a Plant-Based Diet

By Chuck Underwood @brandnewvegan

I’m gonna tell you something that I hope will help change your life.

If you want to get healthy, I mean really, REALLY healthy, you’re going to have to make some changes.  And I won’t lie, it ain’t gonna be easy.  But it IS possible. I know it because I’ve done it myself and I see other people do it every –  single – day.

But first, you’re gonna have to Make The Jump – let me explain.

make the jump

Everybody around you right now is probably eating some version of the American Western Diet, am I right?  It’s what we grew up with.  It’s what our parents fed us.  It’s what our friends ate, our teachers, our aunts and uncles, our pastors.

I’m talking Bacon & Eggs, Hamburgers & French Fries, Fried Chicken & Waffles, Pork Chops & Steak on the grill, Hot Dogs & Pizza, Corn on the Cob dripping with butter – oh and don’t forget the Apple Pie & Ice Cream for dessert.

So what’s wrong with that you’re asking?

Well, let’s take a look and see how that’s worked out for us.

Here in America, we are one of the most obese countries on the planet.  Like the movie says, we are Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.  Heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are our 3 biggest killers. And because of all of that, we spend more money on healthcare than any other country in the world.  We take pills for our blood pressure, pills for our cholesterol, pills for our blood sugar, I mean we take pills for everything.  And now?  Our kids are starting to get sick too.

So here’s the secret, in case you haven’t already figured it out.

It’s the food

make the jump

Greasy, oily, fatty, American food that is full of salt, fat, and sugar.

We’re sick because we’re eating what everyone else is eating. And if we’re not careful, we’re going to end up just like them too.  We’ll have stents and bypasses and insulin pumps and chemo.  And we’ll be broke like them too from paying for all of it.

Guys, that’s not living.  That’s existing.

So if you’re here thinking that there’s got to be a better way to live life, man believe me there is. Believe in your heart of hearts that there is.

But the only way to see what that life is like, you’re going to have to make the jump to a plant-based diet. No two ways around it.

So by now, you’ve probably seen one of those vegan documentaries.  The ones where they talk about eating just vegetables and fruits and beans and such. You know the ones. The ones where they all look so fit and trim and healthy. You hear their amazing stories and all the wonderful things they are doing and you think to yourself- “Man, I want to try that! ”.

And so you make the leap.

Now let me be real with you for a minute.  This ain’t gonna be easy to hear, but I’m just being honest with you.

When you first jump, your parachute is NOT going to open right away.

Let me repeat myself…….when you first jump, you’re parachute is NOT going to open right away!
You’re gonna hit some rocks on the way down. You gonna skin your knees, rip your clothes and get bloodied up pretty good at first.  It’s GOING to happen, count on it.

There is no angelic choir with rainbows and unicorns. Instead, there will more than likely be pain, humiliation, and ridicule.

But here’s the thing. Eventually, eventually, the parachute has to open. That’s not a theory, that’s a promise.

Here’s some more tough love for you….

If this sounds too hard for you? Sure you can play it safe and deal without the cuts and the tears. And you can stand right there on that cliff of life forever – safe and sound.

But if you don’t jump, here’s another promise:

Your parachute will NEVER open – and you’ll NEVER know if this diet will work or not.

If I were you, I’d make the jump

make the jump

Because that’s the only way you’re ever going to soar. The only way to get to that healthy, abundant life you all want. You’ve got to jump, man. You’ve got to take a chance.

Now, before I go, there’s one more thing you need to know.

When you DO make that jump? Don’t tell a soul. Not your spouse, not your friends, not your coworkers – nobody.

I can’t tell you how many people laughed at me when I told them I was going Vegan. And they laughed even harder when I told them I was going to start a blog and one day make it my life’s work.
Like comedian Steve Harvey says (which is what inspired this post) :

If you want to kill a big dream, tell it to a small-minded person.

That’s what I mean by the cuts, tears, and bruises along the way. They will laugh at you, give you a million reasons why it won’t work, they eat the very food you LOVE right in front of you, they’ll tempt you and tease you….
“Oh that’s not healthy”
“But where will you get your protein?”
“Oh my friend did that and it made her sick”
“But we were made to eat meat”
“Try this Keto Diet instead, my friends are all doing it”

I know they mean well and they think they’re helping. But they’re not.

If you need help or support, then you come visit me on my Private Facebook Group and my group will help you every step of the way. But don’t tell anyone else. It will make the process 100x easier, trust me.

So are you ready?

At one point in time, do yourselves a favor folks. Before you get any sicker, or any bigger, or have to take yet another prescription – make the jump.

Just jump one time. Do it. Make the jump.

It might just change your life.
