Hi everyone! I’ve been away at a family reunion, so we have some catching up to do! Let’s start with this…

A few weeks ago Jenny posted an Ikea Vittsjo shelving unit hack from VT Interiors. It seemed ike the perfect shelf to lend volume and additional storage to a sad corner of our living room.

I haven’t fully accessorized it yet (I sort of painted it and threw it up right before we left), but you can get the idea. I think I’ll replace the bottom shelf with mirror (right now the sconce I had to move to put up the shelf is sitting there).

The entire shelf is $70 from Ikea (check it out here). I used about a can and half of Rustoleum’s Metallic spray paint in brass.

I can’t wait to get the styling fleshed out a bit more. In the meantime I can’t decide if I want to paint our living room walls. They are sort of an off white that reads yellowy in photos, so I think I either want a more pure white, or some sort of color. I can’t decide though. Suggestions?
XO,
Heather
