The week started with me having a good old cry, because sometimes a down day and a good cry makes everything a bit better. I was mourning the fact H might miss her first every school trip, her first ever school photo, her first sports day... I was upset she wasn't with her friends as she should be, not carefree and in routine like 5 year olds should be. But, a good cry and it all seemed better. Hubby was rather confused as to why I was crying so much, but it was the first cry I've had this year, and the first since this whole coronavirus mess started, so it was probably a bit overdue.

Homeschooling 'of sorts'

Back to week 2, and we started off fine, a bit of PE with Joe, some drawing with Rob Biddulph #drawwithrob, and also drawing with Steve Harper of Harptoons Publishing - a fantastic half hour drawing at 7pm each evening.

We've also enjoyed Mrs Mactivity's worksheets as well as Twinkl downloads, and a lot (LOT), of Phonics Play - Buried Treasure and Picnic on Pluto are current faves.

I've done some research on some good free Easter printables for next week, and we've also printed some pop-up Easter cards from the paid section of MrsMactivity.com (we were gifted the £19/year subscription, but at £19, there is an awful lot of fun eductional resources it would be well worth it).

TV, us and downtime

Other than that, hubby and I have been watching Spooks and got into the new BBC drama 'The Nest'. We didn't realise it was a 5 parter when we started watching it, but it's on on Sunday's at 9pm.

We did have to ration our wine, until our next delivery as with my asthma we aren't risking going out at all, apart from our daily walk/kids cycle round the block. H keeps saying her legs hurt on her bike, but obviously insists she takes her bike every single time. So we don't get far. We probably spend more time getting ready to leave!

On another note we have subscribed to Disney+ and it is awesome. We are massive Disney fans as you'll maybe know after our trip to Orlando last year. Fingers crossed our booking for this summer can go ahead.... we aren't hopeful.

Blog posts

I seem to have got my blogging mojo back and published a couple of posts:

    Times/days of 40+ virtual classes during COVID-19
Week 1 Diary of COVID19 lockdown (a tad late, but I think they always will be!) - my aim is to publish them on a Monday morning 7am if you want to keep up with what we're up to and any ideas to occupy nearly 3 year olds and 5.5 year olds!

I've also worked on an Things to do and watch at home events page showing all the ONLINE VIRTUAL CLASSES DIRECTORY, plus one off events and things like zoo days, story times, and also including things you can watch any time such as zoo live cams (e.g. the penguins live cam at Edinburgh Zoo). I had hoped it would be live this week, but it'll be next week, probably Easter weekend. I'll keep you posted!!
