BLANTYRE, Lenox, Massachusetts

By Jaclynsindia @siennacharles

I had the honor of visiting Blantyre, a Relais & Chateaux luxury country house hotel in Lenox Massachusetts- 2 hours from NYC. My husband and I arrived and drove up the winding beautiful driveway leading to the Tudor estate owned by the amazing Ann Fitzpatrick whom every employee praises of her passion and generosity.

We stayed in the free standing cottages which cheese , crackers and my favorite-- split of Ruinart awaits you. The room features the most comfortable bed Ive ever slept in, a grand fireplace, cozy sofas, renovated bathrooms , plush blankets and sofas. Meals are served in the main house. Breakfast is reminiscent of an inn on the outskirts of London with fresh baked breads and butters. Lunch is light and fresh. Dinner begins in the parlor with nightly entertainment and an apertif from the extensive cocktail list. Your order is taken while you are enjoying your drink and you are ushered to the table when your first course is almost ready to order wine from an impressive collection from the warm sommelier- as if he was picking you a bottle of wine personally from his own collection. I had the honor of touring the majestic cellar where private dinners can be held and it was truly interesting. The food is of five star quality in every bit. Amuse Bouche to desert is perfection.

Spend your days relaxing in your room, walking about the property, lounging at the pool or indulging at the Potting Shed Spa, a destination in itself is truly progressive and beautiful. Ann brings certain nuances from her travels back to her therapists always being on top of the new trends and treatments. There is a wall full of colorful Chanel nail polishes which was refreshing to see. Blantyre is truly one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. There is such passion in each action that is done. It is truly a step back in the past with the elegant historic touch but remains so far in the future in service, and intention than most hotels.
