Verdict on Shake Rattle & Roll Extreme

Glitch (D. Richard Somes)

Glitch starts when the youngest member of the family Lyka gets too addicted to a children’s television show Gary the Goat. While her neglectful mother Ingrid goes about her day, her Nanny Hasmine must care for the house. However, they are unaware of the show and what it wants Lyka to unleash. While everything seems harmless at the start, it soon takes a much darker turn. The family finds themselves stalked by a ghostly spirit, waiting to feed on them.

This is a wild first story in the trilogy we get here. The idea of an evil presence attaching itself through a children’s television program makes for an interesting concept. It is a great creation, that would be terrifying if anyone ran into it. Nothing is held back when it comes to the violent nature of the creature’s intentions. (3/5)

Mukbang (D. Jerrold Tarog)

Mukbang sees a host of social media influencers spending time in one mansion. However, some of them get possessed by monsters who start stalking the others around the mansion. As the influencers start going missing, the rest must figure out the dark secret and stop it before it is too late.

This one uses the annoying nature of social media influencers to show how easily they don’t notice changes around them. However, the deeper meaning of not knowing the real identity of the people who influence us becomes even more dangerous by the end of the story. It might not be the strongest story, but shows the chaos of people slowly getting taken over. (2/5)

Rage (D. Joey De Guzman)

Rage starts when a group of friends head out for a weekend away. However, after a meteor shower, members of the public turn into rage-filled monsters. The non-infected must prepare to fight back against their friends and strangers who are hellbent on killing them.

The final story is a lot faster pace, a mix of the typical zombie story and the rage zombies. It uses the survivor elements well to keep the action flowing. This brings chaos to the ending, unlike anything we have previously seen and never holds back on unleashing everything. (3/5)

Where to Watch

The movie is available on Netflix now.

Final ThoughtsShake Rattle & Roll Extreme is a chaotic trilogy of horror tales.
