I do not get to the RHS Malvern Spring Festival every year, but when I am able to I make sure I do and I always enjoy it. This year the fates were on my side and I was good to go.
The RHS Malvern Spring Festivals is special as it has so much to see and enjoy. First thing that I saw were the school gardens, which honestly were some of the best I have ever seen.
I am always going to enjoy a moment of the Wizard of Oz;
It was a warm sunny day, a rare for this year so far warm sunny day; and this chap needed to be kept refreshed.
The Floral Marquee was vibrant, a joy of colour and fabulous plants to admire and buy.
I loved the big blue welly.
and I lost my heart to the roses.
Back out into the show and I loved this red metal dragon on one of the displays. There was one on sale and I so nearly bought it; now I have that regret that I didn't. If I see one again....
This wonderful dragon was not on sale, probably best, he wouldn't have fitted in the car.
There are show gardens to admire, this is Perennial's The Lasket garden. Sir Roy Strong has given the garden he created with his late wife Julia Trevelyan Oman to the horticultural charity Perennial. A charity that is dear to my heart. I have visited this garden a couple of times and seeing this reminded it was time that I visited again.
This is 'It doesn't have to cost to the earth' garden designed by Michael Lote and focuses on the need to reinstate wildlife habitats after property construction processes. I love the colours in this garden and the impactful planting.
The entrance to the Secret Escape, designed by Jamie Langlands, has a disco ball and a button that if you press releases some 'mist'. I failed to get a photo of sufficient mist. Inside the garden there was ping-pong, places to sit and a DJ playing some banging tunes.
This is the The Grand Appeal Garden designed by Suzy Dean, it is designed to be explored and played in. The Grand Appeal is the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children's chariy, which provides somewhere for parents to stay when their child is in hospital.
and you could sit and have your photo taken with Wallace. The Grand Appeal charity had this delightful opportunity and had information about the charity and a lottery to help raise funds.
Not that distracted though, I bought a plant - of course I did.
This is Begonia schulzei elaeagnifolia - what a beauty!
and I bought some of the best smelly soap I have ever smelled.
The sky was blue, the sun shone, it was the best of days.
