Empire State of Mind

Empire State of Mind
“Concrete jungle where dreams are made of..”
Ever since I came across Jay-Z’s song "Empire State of Mind", I put NYC in the must visit place in my bucket list. It's been referred to as "the city that never sleeps", "The Empire State", "the Big Apple” so many names for one exciting place, but no matter what phrase you use everyone knows you are speaking of New York

Then came February 2012, an opportunity arose as I was given the privilege to be part of the of team who will be deployed for training in the New Jersey site. It’s not exactly New York but it’s location was still remarkable because you’ll have the dramatic view of Lower Manhattan and not to mention 15 minutes away via the PATH Trains. It's probably one of the most memorable and exciting 56 days of my life on the other side of the globe.

While weekdays are spent on work related stuff, this didn’t hinder me to see what New York has to offer on weekends.  From the crazy night life of Hell’s Kitchen, delusions of grandeur on 5th Avenue, the iconic Statue of Liberty and Empire State, watching an NBA game – a NY Knicks game to be specific, the energetic bright lights of Time Square, not to be missed landmarks of Lower Manhattan, endless walk in Central Park and diverse gastronomical delights, you’ll never run out of things to do here. It can be an overwhelming place initially, and chances are you'll feel right at home in no time. In fact it's so overwhelming that most of my post are still in my draft and I don't know where to start.:)
