How to Layer: The Basics.

It isn’t easy to work or play in extremely cold temperatures. But it shouldn’t be so hard to stay warm in those temperatures. The short answer on how to stay warm in sub-zero conditions is to be effectively layering. Layering is the process of stacking multiple layers of clothing on top of each other to create pockets of warm air to insulate the inside from the outside. This process has multiple layers, that will need to be catered specifically to your job or activity level. The base layer is the layer closest to your body, this layer preserves body heat and wicks moisture away from the skin. The middle layer is extra insulation to be a barrier between the outer and inner layers, activity levels will determine how thick this insulation should be. The final outer layer is a protective shell to protect you from windchill or extreme elements like wind, snow, ice, or rain. The outer layer shouldn’t leave anything surface exposed. You should also use accessories and add extra layering around hands, feet, and the head. Epik.us.com is your guide to more info on freezer wear and safety!
