Samsung Galaxy S6: Let the Rumors Begin!

Posted on the 23 April 2014 by Anna Peterson

It’s nothing we aren’t already accustomed to: a brand new smartphone appears on the market and the rumors about its next version surface almost the same day. Shortly after the release of the Galaxy S5, we heard that the next model, the Galaxy S6, might be released at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona. Furthermore, it won’t bring just upgrades to the table, but a completely new concept, too.

Last month, Samsung secured a patent for a display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Although this info was dismissed at first, it now seems that the S6 could actually sport a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a flexible, curved 5.2in or 5.3in display. As for the processor, we can expect a 64-bit one and, once again, two versions of it: most likely the Snapdragon 808 or 810, and Samsung’s latest Exynos processor. The phone is also said to come with 4GB of RAM (because 2GB won’t be enough to support the 64-bit processor), 128GB of internal memory and either a 3,300mAh or a 3,500mAh battery.

The biggest issue revolves around the operating system. Will Samsung decide on Android yet again or Tizen OS? Although the company has been pushing Tizen forward, it seems that the S6 will still run on Samsung’s preferred OS, which is Android.

A number of fan made concepts have found their way on the internet already and we are sure we will be hearing more about Samsung’s next flagship real soon, so stay tuned!
