While most hospitals around the world are single our name 2 floors, these ten you are about to see have 20 or more floors! Not only that they are all over 100 meters tall making them taller than most of the world's skyscrapers! While most of these hospitals are more medical dormitories they are still impressive nonetheless...

10 - Southwest Hospital Surgery Tower, China - Tallest point from lowest floor: 120m (394 ft)

This military medical university is the biggest hospital in Chongqing City with 74,000 square meters of medical assigned space and 1,300 beds! Dare I say it looks pretty spectacular from the outside and I bet its a nightmare trying to find the right ward.

9 - Instituto do Câncer de São Paulo Octavio Frias de Oliveira, Brazil - Tallest point from lowest floor: 120m (394 ft)

This is the largest hospital of cancer in the whole of Brazil and Latin America and with 28 floors, 120 medical consulting rooms, 1.3 thousand surgeries a month, 6 thousand sessions of chemotherapy performed a month and over 420 sessions of radiotherapy a month this hospital fills its 580 beds and then some.

8 - Herlev Hospital, Denmark - Tallest point from lowest floor: 120m (394 ft)

With 28 floors to handle its 1,616 in-patient beds this hospital is big in every way and still manages to deal with a recorded 82,000 patients every year which helps keep its 4,000 employees very busy indeed.

7 - Northwestern Memorial Hospital Galter Pavilion, United States - Tallest point from lowest floor: 123m (402 ft)

With 894 beds, 1,600 physicians and 3 million square feet of medical building space this giant medical centre is more like a hospital community rather than a single building which helps to make it the third tallest hospital in the United States.

6 - Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, United States - Tallest point from lowest floor: 134 m (442 ft)

It might only have 288 beds but this super-sized hospital provides highly specialized care for more than 148,000 children each year thanks to its 5000+ medial and general employees.

5 - Block K, Queen Mary Hospital, China - Tallest point from lowest floor: 137 m (449 ft)

This flagship teaching hospital founded in 1937 has an incredible 1,400 beds and was designed by London based hospital architects, Llewelyn Davies.

4 - Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, United States - Tallest point from lowest floor: 145.3m (477 ft)

Founded in 1954 this super-hospital has 864 beds and is now a primary adult teaching hospital, but still has a 24 A&E unit to deal with emergencies.

3 - Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital Hong Kong, China - Tallest point from lowest floor: 148.5m (487 ft)

With 24 hr outpatient consultation service and 400 beds, this hospital founded in 1922 has seen many changes over the years which include a landslip which caused considerable damage to several buildings.

2 - Tower at Guy's Hospital, United Kingdom - Tallest point from lowest floor: 148.65m (488 ft)

Founded in 1721 this is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the world let alone Europe and it was all founded by Thomas Guy who was a publisher of unlicensed Bibles! The body of Thomas Guy is interred in the crypt of the Chapel of his foundation.

Founded in 1919 this flagship hospital is considered to be one of the most comprehensive teaching hospitals in the whole of the United States and has leading medical specialists in just about every single field of medicine.
