Four Tree of Life Paintings

By Artbycedar

These four small studies will be on display at Art Tradition Gallery in Escondido starting on May 1st. They are all acrylics on watercolor paper. I’m revisiting some of my Tree of Life imagery and playing with new ideas that I’ve been bouncing around.

The first two show deep roots reaching into the earth, shown as an underground cross-section, with the branches of the tree framing a giant sun.

In this one, a giant full moon. I was going for a stained-glass effect here.

And this leaning tree with thick, gnarled roots clinging to the top of a hill, with a starry violet sky in the background.

I chose to mat them in an elegant white double mat–matted they are 14″ x 11″. They look beautiful displayed together!
