15 Breast Cancer Questions to Ask Your Doctor

Posted on the 30 October 2012 by Jean Campbell

breastA few Sundays ago, I had the opportunity to be part of a panel discussion on Breast Cancer Answers (www.breastcanceranswers.com), a social media show where viewers suggest questions and panel experts answer select questions on video.

A key member of the panel, Dr. Jay Harness, medical director of Breast Cancer Answers, guided panel members through a series of conversations that ran the course of the breast cancer experience from diagnosis to life as a survivor.

As medical director for BreastCancerAnswers.com  Dr. Harness guides this first ever social media show’s information by drawing on his former leadership experience as the President of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Breast Surgery International.  His complete bio follows this post.

During the hour-long show, Dr. Harness mentioned that, on his site, he has a list of 15 questions to ask your doctor when meeting to discuss your recent breast cancer diagnosis.

The link to the 15 Questions is here: http://www.breastcanceranswers.com/what-breast-cancer-questions-to-ask/#.UIV

After the show, I used the link to access the list. It is a free download.

I only wish I had such a list before I met with my doctor following my first breast cancer. I would have come away from that meeting with a clear understanding of my diagnosis and my treatment course.
