The Seaside Neighborhood School is one of the top charter schoos not only in Florida, but in the country. It was conceptualized in 1995 by my neighbors and concerned citizens, and created in 1996 before my permanent move to the area. #SNS student test scores rank high above the district and state standards, but each year the gap between The Seaside School standard of excellence and the funding provided by the state seems to grow wider! There are either funding cuts or the school has a need for more students. Whether you’re a runner, volunteer, sponsor, or just come for the weekend, you are supporting a fantastic community event by participating in The Seaside Half Marathon & 5K! Your contributions allow students to have elective mentored classes in gardening, music, art, technology, dance, yearbook, smaller math classes, and an award winning robotics program. My kids attended during the George Bush, jr admisnistation (as as seen with Caroline’s name on the sign below.) Bush was rolling into Seaside – New Town, Old Ways and the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K was in infancy!

In 2012 Emeril Lagasse took notice and gave praise to the kids & school for their garden initiative. This year #Emeril wail host Taste Of The Race Friday, Feb 27 in ‪#‎SeasideFL‬!
