As appealing as the exterior may be, just wait until you see the inside! Walking around the lower level, there are lots of splashes of that vintage blue and green color and long windows that let in lots of light. This a very warm and homey sort of shop.
Aside from the way it looks, it’s a great place to treasure hunt! You’ll find really neat antique furniture. In fact, the whole shop, but the second floor in particular, is full of it!
Shelves of all kinds–including many that looked like something out of an old general store or other small business–lined the walls or grouped together in the center of some of the larger spaces. Some of them just begged to come home with me. I barely resisted.

But where Yesterday’s Antiques at Vinton House really excel is their selection of primitives.
Vintage wooden spoons and wooden toys like alphabet blocks and pull toys, crockery, pottery, and then some.
We also saw baskets and kitchen ware and really pretty linens as well as the usual sort of Indiana antiques like Ball jars and luggage.
If you’ve got that shabby chic look in mind, you’ll want to pop in to this Indiana town antique shop to see what you can see. There’s a lot of pieces here that could make a great, inexpensive addition to your Hoosier home!

This Wayne County antique shop states that you’ll find “purposeful clutter.” Is that a good description or what?
To think that this light-filled space was once a hotel! little Indiana and hubby agree that it makes for a heck of an antique shop! I haven’t even told you what lies on third floor. Stay tuned!
