Yes, Dressing Little Boys is as Fun as Dressing Little Girls!

Yes, Dressing Little Boys is as Fun as Dressing Little Girls!

I was never one of those moms to be who had a preference over having a girl or a boy. As a first time mama, I only wanted a healthy baby, but I totally understand you guys who have dreamed your whole lives of having either a baby girl or a baby boy - no judgement here! It seems as though the general consensus is that little boys aren't as fun to dress as little girls, and I totallyyyyyy totally disagree. I do think that finding cute boy clothes is more challenging than finding cute girl clothing, simply because often times the boy clothing sections simply don't have as much to choose from (dumb), but that doesn't mean dressing your little guy has to be any less fun.

When it comes to dressing Sebastian, I abide by the philosophy of dressing him like a little man. That means he'll wear skinny jeans, mini versions of adult sneakers, and smaller sized adult like outfits. I also LOVE to dress him in bright colors and interesting prints and patterns, which is where all of the fun comes in to play!

One of my favorite stores to get fun clothing for Sebastian at this age (and when he was younger too!) is Old Navy. They have a ton of fun prints and graphic tees, the prices are affordable (win!), and in my opinion the quality is pretty great. I recently got this pineapple print shirt, this graphic tee, and these adorable chino shorts, along with several other things for Sebastian, and everything was super cute, bright and fun - always the vibe I'm going for when dressing him. A note on sizing - Sebastian will be 2 next month, and is on the high end of the percentiles for both height and weight. 3T's in tops at Old Navy fit him perfectly, while 3T jeans tend to run a little long on him, but fit perfectly in the waist. 3T shorts fit him perfectly in both length and in the waist.

Some of my other favorite places to find little boy clothing with personality are H&M, and Zara. I've been buying him the cutest stuff from both places since he was born (probably since before he was born haha) and they always have a really good assortment of styles. I will say that my local Zara store, doesn't have as large of a boy selection in-store, but they do have lots of cute options online. This Toucan backpack, this palm tree t-shirt, and these colorful skinny jeans are some of my favorite picks from the little boy section at Zara right now. H&M always does a really good job at cute sets with multiple pieces in each set, and I'm loving this 3 piece short set (it has suspenders...I'm dying!), and this pack of shorts that would be perfect to wear all spring and summer long. Sizing notes - I think that Zara clothing tends to run a bit big. There have been several pieces we've gotten from there thinking that they would fit immediately, that he's had to grow in to. Believe me this doesn't happen often. H&M clothing tends to fit him true to size.

I also love Amazon, especially if I'm looking for something specific. Most recently, Sebastian and I had plans during what was forecasted to be a rainy weekend, and I scooped up this adorable dinosaur printed rain jacket for him to wear. It's also worth mentioning that I used to be a huge fan of little boy clothing from Target, but find that the selection isn't as great now that he's a bit older. I fully do recommend checking them out though if you have a little one 12months or younger!
