Winner of the Name/Create a Reality Show Challenge

Winner of the Reality Show Challenge, Book Giveaways and Promos!I received some wildly inventive ideas for reality show challenge inspiration for my new romantic comedy Slightly Sweaty (which takes place during a reality show called Minefield). All the submissions are found in the comments of my last post.

Julie cracked me up with her “Redneck Directions” idea because it reminded me of how we tease my mom for never knowing the name of a single street. Her directions are always “you turn right where we saw that dead cat and then left at the red house with the bad lawn…”

Lori got cheeky with “Scare your pants off” where contestants build a scarecrow from their own clothes…

Gray seemed obsessed with removing the usefulness of one thing from each pair of body parts: Sweaty Piglets – run to grab as many piglets as they could thru a maze with one leg rope to the other, with one eye patched and underwear only. With lots of Mud!

Tammy Lou was on a similar track: Chicken Run: A glass maze filled with all kinds of things from balls to fake snakes and of course live chickens. (of course live chickens…why wouldn’t there be live chickens?) Blind fold them (the chickens??), they have to make it through the maze while collecting chicken eggs and putting them in baskets…

But in the end I had to give grand prize to Val who had apparently been waiting years for someone to ask her to come up with ideas for a reality show! She offered no less than seven ideas:

Handless Housekeeping, Blind mans cookies – talk blindfolded member through making a batch of cookies. Talk them out of it – the couple has to convince a stranger to switch clothing with one of them, in a public space. Barnyard bath or Bathtime for Baby – giving very dirty nonhuman babies a bath. Party till you’re farty or I lactose you so much – contestants must eat an obscene amount of cheese. Everything’s coming up roses – moving a large pile of fresh manure. Tie me up tie you down – one contestants hands are tied, the others feet. I don’t know what they’re doing but it bound to be funny

Though eating an “obscene amount of cheese” just sounds like any given awesome day to me.

I decided to give everyone who submitted (up to the publishing of this post) a free ebook when Slightly Sweaty is released (and Val gets the paperback too!) Thank you for participating!!
