Whiskey Del Bac is the name of the whisky that they make at Hamilton Distillers.
American Single Malt made from malted barley dried on-site with mesquite smoke is their style.
On June 19th, The West Coast Office and yours truly set aside a block of time prior to Kiddushfest (a full review of this Kosher BBQ and whisky event will drop on the blog in the next couple of weeks) to review two Whiskey Del Bac expressions. The first expression that we are reviewing on this episode of Whisky Tasting Road Show is called Whiskey Del Bac Dorado. Here are a few words about this whisky from the Hamilton Distillers website:
Whiskey Del Bac Dorado is a single malt whiskey with the true character of the American Southwest. Using the Scottish model of whisky making, Dorado is made from 100% barley that is malted and smoked over a velvet mesquite fire, mashed, fermented, copper pot distilled, aged and bottled on-site.Dorado has a nose of tobacco and chocolate, giving way to campfire embers, and finishing with soft tannins and sweet toffee on the palate.To see and hear what we thought of this very unique and fascinating sounding whisky, click the play button on the following video:
