Whisky Review – Penderyn Madeira Cask Finish, Myth, and Legend Single Malt Welsh WhiskiesIf you do it right and are open to new experiences (i.e. you're not married to a particular brand or style of whisky), whisky drinking can be like traveling the world without ever leaving the comfort of your living room, or in our case, the looming sense of doom that is The Murder Table...

On today's episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table, we travel to Wales for a review of three whisky expressions from the Penderyn Distillery. This distillery is located in the town of Penderyn which rests at the foothills of Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. The three expressions of Single Malt Welsh Whisky that we'll be discussing are the Madeira Cask Finish, Myth, and Legend.

Here are a few words about each whisky taken directly from their US importer's website, i.e. Impex Beverages:

Madeira Cask Finish - A classic freshness with aromas of cream toffee, rich fruit and raisins.Myth - Fresh and lively, Myth has mixed citrus fruits mingling with apple, pear drops and the merest hint of tropical fruits.Legend - Aromas of fresh apples and citrus fruits intermingle with cream fudge and sultana raisins to create a complex yet fresh, clean and well-balanced whisky.

Was this tasting the whisky journey of a lifetime, or a boondoggle of epic proportions? There's only one way to find out! Click the play button on the video below to see and hear all that we had to say about these three delightful sounding whiskies from the home of The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Sir Thomas John Woodward, aka Tom Jones!

And Matthew Rhys.
And Anthony Hopkins.
And Richard Burton.
And Catherine Zeta-Jones.
And so on, and so on...
