Where in the World? is our new occasional series in which Adam, The Daily Constitutional’s Editor is logging the locations of his London Walkers.
“We meet people from all over the world, and I thought it would be fun to map them out to create a picture of where our London Walkers (and Daily Constitutionalists) come from.
We’ll be breaking it down by English and Welsh counties, Scottish regions, Irish provinces, U.S States, Canadian provinces, Australian states, European, Asian, African and South American countries. And, of course, by London boroughs.”
It’s the Rock’n’Roll London Pub Walk
tonight and last Friday we had an international crowd on our Rock’n’Roll Walk.
Including Londoners, of course.
The boroughs of ‘ounslow and ‘ackney are
the first on our London map…
Hounslow
Ian McLagan was the odd-man-out of the
Small Faces – born in Housnlow in 1945, his fellow Small Faces were all East
Enders.
Hackney
Marc Bolan was born Mark Feld in Hackney in
1947.
Both McLagan and Bolan feature on the Rock’n’Roll London Walk.
Luxembourg
And Europe joins the picture, too. Great to
meet Roman, a huge Jimi Hendrix fan who joined us from Luxembourg…
… which is entirely appropriate given that
Luxembourg was the source of Rock’n’Roll for many of us before the dawn of
Radio 1 in 1967.
The Rock’n’Roll London Pub Walk is tonight
(and every Wednesday) at 7:00pm.
A
London Walk costs £9 – £7 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your
guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all
London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
