A H ookah is a smoking device also a type of water pipe. The tobacco burns in a small bowl. The smoke from the tobacco then travels through a water chamber and along a rubber hose to a mouthpiece. The smoker inhales through this mouthpiece. According to different references, the origin of Hookah use began centuries ago in ancient Persia and India. There are many different theories about when and where the hookah originated. However, most sources place the beginning of hookah history to the 16th century. During this time, the Mughal Empire ruled the area now known as the Indian subcontinent, as well as parts of what is now Afghanistan and Pakistan. It seems that the hookah had less popularity at that time, but it became more popular by the passing of time and was offered by restaurants and cafes. From the ancient times smoking hookah in India was not only a habit but also a matter of prestige. Rich people and landlords had to smoke hookah. mainly in the part of North India Like Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, uttrakhand many people's like to smoke it. In Nepal The hookah is very popular also, especially the wooden ones. Using hookah has been a symbol of nobility in the history of Nepal. Today it is still popular among younger people and tourists. As some researchers believe, the hookah was invented for the first time in the north western regions of India in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

In different parts of the world, the hookah is referred to by different names. "Shisha", "Nargeela", "Arkeela" or "Argeela" is used for it in Arabic language and all around the Arab world. In many countries including Turkey, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, it is called "Nargeela". It has to be mentioned that Nargeela derives from the Persian word "Nargil" meaning coconut, which is adapted from Sanskrit word "Narikela" and shows that the early hookahs were made by coconut shells. By the 19th century, Turkish women of high society used hookahs as status symbols; they can often be seen in the art of the era. As time went on and people from the Middle East, India and Pakistan immigrated to Europe, hookah cafes began appearing in European cities. Today, hookah bars and cafes are quite popular in many parts of Britain, France, Spain, Russia and throughout the Middle East and are growing in popularity in the United States. While most of the world has enjoyed hookahs for centuries, in the last 20 years, the hookah lifestyle and culture has experienced a boom and has spread into the world. Enjoying a hookah now among friends is a great way to socialize and its popularity continues to rise.

Smoking tobacco through water does not filter out cancer-causing chemicals. Water-filtered smoke can damage the lungs and heart as much as cigarette smoke. The hookah smoke does not burn the lungs when inhaled because it is cooled through the water in the base of the hookah. Even though the smoke is cooled, it still contains carcinogens and it is still unhealthy. Just like regular tobacco, shisha contains nicotine. In fact, in a 60-minute Hookah session, smokers are exposed to 100 to 200 times the volume of smoke inhaled from a single cigarette. The tobacco is no less toxic in a hookah pipe than in a cigarette, and the water in the hookah does not filter out the toxic ingredients in the tobacco smoke. Hookah smokers may actually inhale more tobacco smoke than cigarette smokers do because of the large volume of smoke they inhale in one smoking session, which can last as long as 60 minutes. Tobacco is tobacco, no matter how you look at it. Shisha is often soaked in molasses or honey and mixed with fruit, but it still contains cancer-causing chemicals and nicotine. Just like smoking herbal or "natural" cigarettes, herbal shisha exposes the smoker to tar and carcinogens. Heat sources like charcoal or wood cinders may increase health risks because they produce carbon monoxide, metals, and cancer causing chemicals in addition to the tobacco. The longer the hookah session, the more nicotine and toxins one takes in. Sharing mouthpieces without washing them can increase risk of spreading of colds, flu, and communicable infections like oral herpes and mononucleousis.

You Know If God had wanted us to smoke, he would have given us a separate hole for it. Smoking kills!!

The rise in hookah smoking among young people may be related to several factors:

Many young people mistakenly believe that hookah smoke has less nicotine and is less toxic because the smoke is filtered through water.

Shisha tobacco is available in a variety of enticing flavors.

Hookah smoking is a social activity, and often advertised as exotic.

Shisha tobacco is often cheaper to buy than cigarettes.

Shisha tobacco can be sold online making access to this product easier for youth.
