On Monday, January 15th we’ll see the return of Supergirl at 8/7c on The CW with a new episode, Legion of Superheroes (3×10)!
Before winter hiatus, we saw Supergirl finally facing off against a fully realized Reign…and it did not go well. The last time we saw Supergirl/Kara (Melissa Benoist), she’d been defeated by Reign (Odette Annable) and left for dead.
In this new extended promo for next week’s episode, we see that the evil holo-mentor is quite pleased with how Reign “easily vanquished the daughter of The House of El and went on about how the awakening must be delivered. We’re not explicitly told what the awakening is, but it’s clearly not good for the citizens of National City or the world.
Though Kara lives, she is trapped in a coma-like state mind prison which happens to look like her apartment. It looks like it’s up to Kara to get herself out of this prison, but it doesn’t seem like it will come easily. We see not only concern from Alex (Chyler Leigh), Winn (Jeremy Jordan), and J’onn (David Harewood), but also questioning why she won’t wake up.
Without Supergirl, the DEO must change tactics. They use what they have, which includes the Legion of Superheroes they have. Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Imra Ardeen (Amy Jackson) along with another, Querl Dox/Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath), suit up to take on Reign. So for those of us wondering why Mon-El and Imra’s storyline hadn’t yet been tied up, this is likely it!
