Video: Saving the Wild Dogs of Africa

Posted on the 03 July 2020 by Kungfujedi @Kungfujedi

At the turn of the 20th century it was estimated that more than 500,000 wild dogs-a unique species not a designation for stray canines-roamed across Africa. Today, that number is believed to have dropped to as few as 6600 spread out over 14 countries. This has led the African wild dog to the brink of extinction, putting them on the critically endangered list. But thanks to the efforts of conservationists like Dr. Rosemary Groom and Jessica Watermeyer, along with the African Wildlife Conservation Fund, the dogs are starting to make a comeback. In this video, see those efforts in action and watch these wild creatures in their own natural habitat.
