Use of Innovative Recycled Building Materials in Construction

Posted on the 06 June 2020 by John Smith @QTOEstimating

As the world is developing into a global village with the help of technology, things are becoming more advanced. However, the side effect of this development is quire devastating. Most people are trying to cut their waste but it seems that even with so much effort most industries are unable to cut their waste. One of the biggest names in this list is the conduction industry. The construction industry is known to be the biggest contributor when it comes to pollution. Not only this but it has failed to cut the waste and follow the green initiative that other industries are trying hard to follow very closely. To address this issue and come up with a solution, companies are now coming forward with recycled building material. These building materials are made up of either industrial waste or waste that was made by recycling the material used or left on these construction sites. It feels that the rapid havoc of pollution caused by the construction industry will finally see a halt. However, the question remains, what are these building materials, and are they good enough.Use of Innovative Recycled Building Materials in Construction
For better insight, here are a few of the innovative recycled building material and their use.

Newspaper Wood

Everyone has heard that the newspaper is made out of wood, but how about a wood made out of newspaper. The design initially came from Norway where around 1m tone of paper and cardboard is recycled each year. For the production of this wood, the paper is rolled up and solvent-free glue is used for creating a log-like structure that is later chopped in the form of planks. This is used as a replacement for wood and can work best for flooring and making shelves.

Wine Cork Panels

As wooden floors and in fashion, most people prefer getting pure wooden floors however, they are expensive and get damaged very easily. As a replacement wine cork panels work wonders. These panels are used mainly for floor tiles and walls and they are made with the use of granulated cork along with whole wine cork. These are made in the shape of tiles with the help of binding material.

Bricks from Bottle

As the main raw material for construction, bricks play a very important role and they are needed the most. These bricks are expensive and must be available at all times otherwise the construction work can be affected. Very recently, bottles have been used as bricks, these bottles are filled up with various materials to make them sturdy and heavy. Each bottleneck slot works as a base and all these bottles are interlocked for better stability. It seems that this innovation will work wonders for all as this will not only help in reducing the plastic pollution but it will also help in reducing the construction cost.

Recy Bricks

Recy bricks are also known as Recy blocks and what makes them stand out is their color. They have exceptionally bright colors because they are made up of old plastic bags that are very well known for their toxicity. Imagine killing two birds with one stone, now you don’t have to avoid using plastic bags because you can turn them into a brick. The plastic bags are melted and then molded in the shape of blocks and they are used as a replacement of bricks. These blocks are not only lightweight they also work as load-bearing walls and room dividers.
