United full of mistakes; Goal spree at Molineux
Fans were treated to a six goal outpour at Molineux in a thrilling 3-3 tie between Tottenham and Wolves.  Kevin Doyle opens up the scoring for Wolves, converting a header off a free kick in the 19th minute.  Jermain Defoe nets his first Premier League goal of the season on a brilliant strike outside the box, evening the score at 1.  It was Defoe, again, putting Spurs ahead just four minutes later as he curled in another beautiful strike from outside the penalty area.  Only six minutes later, Nenad Milijas was pulled down inside the box and awarded a penalty (Wolves will feel Spurs defender Alan Hutton deserved a red for his transgressions, but it was not awarded).  Kevin Doyle converted the penalty and the squads went into the half tied at 2.  Just three minutes after half, however, Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko scorched in Tottenham’s third goal.  Wolves had their first equalizing chance taken away from them as it was waived off due to what the referee considered to be a foul on the Spurs keeper.  Minutes later, however, they managed to head home they’re third as substitute Steven Fletcher rose above the Spurs defense to secure the point for Wolves, a vital one as the relegation battle continues. Manchester United were out of sorts from start to finish at Anfield on Sunday while Dirk Kuyt scores what must be the easiest hat trick in Premier League history.  His first came off the slick feet of Luis Suarez, who got in behind the United defense and danced around several defenders before sliding it past United Keeper Edwin van der Sar for Kuyt to tap in a ball that was bound for goal whether he put a foot to it or not.  His second came off a terrible mistake by United winger Nani.  In an attempt to clear the ball of United’s box, a frazzled and nervous Nani (without a soul around him) accidently headed the ball back towards his own net to the grateful head of Kuyt, who headed in the gift from no more than four yards away.  He completed the hat trick after the half, again from only a yard out.  Luis Suarez attempted a tricky free kick from outside the box which van der Sar saved but left the rebound at his feet for Kuyt to tap home.  United had their chances as striker Dimitar Berbatov put a shot off the post in the first half and had a headed effort blocked on the goal line by the body of Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles in the second.  Javier Hernandez put in a consolation goal for United as time ran out on the Red Devils who, after not losing a contest for nearly the first six months of the season, have now lost two straight.
