Twin Cities Best Cinnamon Rolls & Puppy Dog Tails in East Isles Neighborhood

Posted on the 14 April 2013 by Homesmsp @HomesMSP

There is something about a huge, fresh, luscious, homemade cinnamon roll that makes it easier to put up with snow and freezing rain in the middle of April. Add to that an unlimited slathering of frosting that is as generous (or not) as you like and you have the recipe for Isles Bun & Coffee's success... that often means waiting in line for these awesomely delicious and decadent sweet, gooey rolls.

Rejoice if you find a table in this tiny shop, but expect to take it out to savor at a sidewalk table (when it's not snowing!) or to munch as you stroll around nearby Lake of the Isles. Don't forget to take extra frosting if you need it.

Personally, I love their Puppy Dog Tails... supposedly named by the children in the nearby day care. They are made with the same ingredients as their cinnamon rolls, but are smaller twists. However, if you crave the soft, gooey center of a huge cinnamon roll you must have the full rolls... you might even consider adding caramel and pecans. I hear their scones are also some of the best in the metro... and don't miss their freshly squeezed orange juice.

Located on 28th Street between Hennepin Avenue and Lake of the Isles, Isles Bun & Coffee is a regular stop for many people who live in this East Isles neighborhood.

Check out East Isles-Uptown homes for sale if you would love living in this walkable neighborhood... or plan a stop when you are walking the lakes or biking the Midtown Greenway, both just a couple blocks away.
