This week on Turkish Football Weekly, it’s a little different in terms of the format.  Ata alternates between his usual co-host (who he actually got in touch with this time before recording), and Belgium’s resident Turkish football expert.  If you thought the Erkan Zengin transfer saga from last week was strange, the sequel featuring Tolgay Arslan may be even more strange.  Oh yeah, and the Super League is back in action.  Featured this week:

  • Jeremy Chapman joins Ata Dizdar to review week 17 results of the Turkish Super League.  They also give a rundown on the week 18 schedule as the Turkish Super League gets underway with the second half of the season.
  • Kaan Bayazit joins Ata for discussion of the news of the week.  The main topic of discussion in this segment (and the reason Kaan wanted to be on this week) is the transfer of Hamburg’s Tolgay Arslan to Besiktas.  Trabzonspor’s attempt to hijack the transfer, along with club chairman Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu’s appearances on the Beyaz Futbol pundit show, are analyzed.  Other analysis in this segment concerns whether Trabzonspor really needed Arslan or not, Besiktas’ response to comments made by Haciosmanoglu on said pundit show, and discussion on Trabzonspor’s finances.
