This week on Turkish Football Weekly:
- The Turkish Football Federation held the drawing to determine the Super League schedule for the upcoming season. The derby weeks and the matchups for week 1 are announced on this week’s episode.
- Trabzonspor found out who their opponent in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League will be and the guys discuss this development. This includes a debate on whether having competitive games this early in a season really benefits a team in preparation for the upcoming league season. Also, Trabzonspor will not retain the services of goalkeeper Hakan Arikan, and this story is discussed.
- In what seems to be an annual tradition among teams promoted from the PTT 1st Division (other than completely overhauling their squads with new signings), two of the teams promoted to the Super League from last season have hired or will be hiring a new manager. These developments are debated.
- Other transfers and signings are discussed. One such discussion features Jeremy going off on a epic rant concerning Fenerbahce’s signing of Nani from Manchester United. Other transfers/signings discussed range from Andreas Beck heading to Besiktas, to Theofanis Gekas heading to Eskisehirspor, and Emre Belozoglu signing with Istanbul Basaksehir.
