Robert Kazinsky (who plays newcomer Ben the fairy) has been billed as being the most naked character over a season of HBO’s True Blood. This didn’t stop his fear at having to disrobe in front of Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) for the first time in True Blood’s Season 6:
I have never had to be naked before… For me it was pretty damn terrifying. No one cared apart from me. They were like, just take your clothes off, now, we are running out of time. But it was absolutely jaw-dropping and terrifying… You get given a day’s notice and I was up all night stressing about it and how bad I am going to look next to Joe. I am a redhead and very pale and in a stark moonlight I do glow. I have a glowing a**.
Kazinsky recently told Britain’s Daily Mirror.
It didn’t take long for the friendly True Blood crew to put his mind at ease though on the day of the shoot. Anna Paquin was also considerate of his predicament. While she was completely professional about the scene, she was not about to let Robert Kazinsky wallow in his ego and self-doubt about stripping off in public:
Before the scenes she said from day one ‘Shut up’ and ‘Do it – if I am doing it you’re doing it’.
Besides the fear of getting naked in front of relative strangers, there was also the fact that Paquin’s husband, Stephen Moyer (who plays Bill Compton/Billith) also works on the show:
I asked him what are the boundaries, what can I do? And he said just do what you should do. Stephen couldn’t be more giving or kind and they couldn’t be more secure in their relationship.
While Kazinsky is yet to reveal his bare butt in Season 6, it will be interesting to see if his fear shows in his performance.
