As much as I love a good western outfit, I never miss a chance to show some love to my Indian traditional clothing as well! Honestly speaking, I don't have much of traditional clothing, the lack of occasions to wear em as much justifies my situation, but whatever I own I try to repurpose them to create different outfits. Thanks to Kalki Fashion Mumbai for sending me this beautiful Sharara set , which arrived from Mumbai just in time for the festivities.

While festivals are a way of bringing home happiness, positivity and blessings for all, they are also an occasion to play dress up. I still remember making a list of new clothing to buy right before the Durga Pujas, which usually falls around this time. I understand this year owing to the social distancing and virus Indian festivals will be a lot different. There will be no outdoor communal celebrations aka there will be less pomp and show. It breaks my heart to even fathom that, but it has to be done for our own personal safety.

Early on I was not even considering shopping as a part of the to-do list for the festivities. But why change customs that we have been following for time immemorial for something that is temporary and that has already upended the world upside down? Come on folks, we deserve better than this! So, I leaped at the opportunity of collaborating with Kalki Fashion to bring to you some amazing affordable Indian clothing and two looks featuring the same Sharara set.

I chose this Rose pink set with a Jaipur print kurta ( tunic ). I don't own many pink Indian pieces and this one stood out to me for it's prettiness, comfort, and vibrant hue.

LOOK 1- I styled the Jaipur print sharara as is with pair of chappals, some gold bangles, a bindi and a pair of silver-ruby jhumkas. Those is more subtle and everyday look.

LOOK 2- I took look 1 up a notch with my custom-made brocade jacket, high stilettos, a more dangly heavy set of jhumkaas and the bindi stayed. This is more of an evening look.

So shop smart, style smart and use your current wardrobe to revamp your new traditional set that you buy at the Mega Sale happening at Kalki Fashion.

PS- they ship internationally.
