Todd Dulaney is on a mission to connect sports and faith.
“God Brought Me From Swinging The Bat, Hitting Homeruns And Winning Games And Found Me In The Pit Of Life!! Then He Put Me Into His Pulpit Winning Souls!”- Darryl Strawberry
Dulaney recently teamed up with one of his childhood hero’s, retired MLB player Darryl Strawberry to do just that. During a night of worship at Calvary Church of Naperville, the former Yankees player shared his journey of faith.
“I grew up as a child watching Darryl Strawberry and dreaming to be in his shoes one day!! So to have the opportunity to win souls alongside him was never even on my radar,” Dulaney shared on Instagram.
Strawberry, who is now a Pastor, struggled with drug abuse, battled colon cancer, two failed marriages, child support issues, and served 11 months in jail.

When I was in jail, I refused chemotherapy because I would have much rather been dead. But God was doing for me what I couldn’t do for myself. He wasn’t going to let me go.
“God had a purpose and plan for my life,” Strawberry continued. “When I look back on that, God always knew that I would fulfill the purpose and plan. I finally came to a place where I was brought to my knees, and I looked up and answered the call. My purpose was to preach and to help others.”
During the night of worship, the two gentlemen discussed sports, music and much more according to Dulaney.
Fans can watch the conversation with the two Christian men when it airs Friday morning on the MLB network.
