According to sources, DAVID DE GEA will be paid a large sum to leave Manchester United. This comes after news that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will rely on Dean Henderson as his starting quarterback next season.

According to the Daily Mirror, United will have to pay out a significant portion of De Gea’s £36.4 million contract in order to get him off the payroll.

The Spaniard still has two years left on his two-year, £350,000-per-week contract, which he signed in 2019.

De Gea, 30, has been Solskjaer’s primary goalkeeper this season, missing only five league games.

Henderson, 24, has made 19 appearances across all competitions but has found his best form in cup games.

With the England international looking ahead to the future, it is believed he has made it clear that he wants first-team football on a regular basis next season.

Moreover, despite De Gea’s experience, he may be sacrificed in favor of Henderson’s youth and potential.

United currently spends £570,000 per week on five senior goalkeepers and is looking to reduce spending.

Henderson signed a five-year contract worth £100,000 per week last summer to stave off interest from other clubs.

Sergio Romero, 34, is paid £70,000 per week but is nearing the end of his contract in Argentina. He was almost ready to move to Everton last summer, but United blocked the move at the last minute.

third option Lee Grant, 38, and Joel Pereira, 24, are paid £30,000 and £20,000 per week, respectively, but will be released at the end of the season.

Huddersfield Town have agreed to pay a percentage of Pereira’s salary after signing the ex-Portugal Under-21 stopper on loan.
