Who Knew that fashion Icon and Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld would be apart of the next generation of Barbie. This fall, Mattel,the toy manufacturing company, has asked Lagerfeld to design a new look for the fashion driven doll. This new barbie will be a collector’s edition with all of the key components of Lagerfeld’s distinguished and original style.
This Barbie’s closet will include a black blazer, a MEN’S white dress shirt with a starched collar, a black satin tie and a pair of fitted black jeans.
(Pushing gender lines are we? Is this barbie, like Janel Monae and many others, contributing to the idea that gender is performed?… Something to think about)
The wardrobe will also include with equally FEMININE accessories: a pair of black fingerless gloves, black boots and a black leather clutch with metallic embelishment.
