This is Chiraq: 3 Dead, 26 Wounded in Weekend Shootings Across Chicago

From MyFoxChicago: Three men were killed and at least 26 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening, according to Chicago Police.

The weekend’s latest homicide happened Saturday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side. About 1:35 p.m., a 25-year-old man was sitting in a car parked in the 10400 block of South Wentworth when someone walked up and shot him in the head, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, police said.

Another shooting in the same neighborhood left a man dead less than a mile away Friday evening. About 6:15 p.m., a 20-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in the back yard of a home in the 10700 block of South Edbrooke, police said. He was dead at the scene. Authorities have not released either of the Roseland victims’ names.

The weekend’s first fatal attack happened about 4:30 p.m. Friday in Englewood.

Ernest Hudson, 18, was shot in the head about 4:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Lowe, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:55 p.m.

The most recent nonfatal attack happened about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side. A 23-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were both wounded in a shooting about 5:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of West Chicago, police said. The man was shot in the shoulder and back and the woman suffered a gunshot wound the left arm. They later showed up at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, where they were both listed in serious condition. A police source said the man is a documented gang member.

At least 24 more people have been wounded in shootings across Chicago since 7 p.m. Friday.
