XXXTentacion Claims He’s Gonna Donate To Domestic Violence Programs
Endlessly controversial musician XXXTentacion is attempting to undo a whole career made off of bad headlines about domestic abuse and his bouts of online sexism and harassment. On Friday, the rapper posted some lengthy messages to his Instagram Story, with one claiming that he would be donating $100,000 to domestic violence programs.
This announcement comes only 1 day after reports that he received $6 million from Captiol Records for just one album. He began his rant by apologizing to women who felt “violated” by his many inappropriate online comments last month. At the time, XXX was responding to criticism from a Pitchfork article that described graphic details of the abuse charges against him, and the rapper threatened anyone who called him a “domestic abuser,” before mocking the charges by saying, “If you want your pussy domestically abused, hit my line.”

He posted the above statement on his IG story among others, saying that he wants to donate to domestic violence programs in order to “show progress in my life and remorse for my remark.” He went on to post about how he wants people to “stop making it a joke to disrespect women in 2017” though his next statement just a few moments later says, “AN UNFAITHFUL WOMAN WILL MAKE YOU THINK THEY ARE ALL EVIL.”
It’s unclear whether this supposed change of heart came from a place of actual remorse or if someone on XXXTentacion’s team is forcing/telling him to make this donation–or at least talk about making it. Hopefully this is the end of his incessant joking about his own domestic abuse charges and he really gets it together for all of the young fans he’s accumulated so quickly.
