The Yellow Church Of Fumay

By Ingridd @cosytraveler

Lars and I had already seen the church from the first viewpoint at La Platale in Haybes. And when we drove to the Roche d’Ulf we saw it too. So when we came back to the center of town, we decided to have a look.

You really can’t miss the church. It is located smack in the middle of town and it’s the only yellow building in Fumay. It’s called l’église de saint Georges and it was constructed in the 2nd half of the 19th century.

We were really eager to enter the church; the shape of it suggested that there were several chapels inside and Lars of course wanted to see the organ.

But … the church was closed. There was no notice saying why and we tried in vain to open all the doors of the building. What a pity… So, you will have to do with the pictures of the exterior.
