The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone expansion launches October 13
The Witcher 3 expansion Hearts of Stone will launch October 13, CD Projekt Red has announced.
In Hearts of Stone, Geralt of Rivia has been hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec. Geralt's major problem being that the bandit is immortal.
Players are promised over 10 hours of new adventures along with new characters, powerful monsters, unique romance, and a brand new storyline shaped by their choices. Also introduced is a brand new system of Runewords, with each impacting a different aspect of in-game mechanics.
The expansion's digital release will be joined by a limited boxed retail edition containing a digital download code for the expansion, two physical decks of Gwent (Monsters and Scoia’tael), and a detailed manual explaining the rules.
Gamers who buy the digital Expansion Pass will be able to purchase the cards separately.
The limited retail edition will cost $19.99, with the digital version currently without a price.
Fans can look out for an even bigger expansion in Q1 2016 with Blood and Wine, a 20-hour-plus campaign that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.
