Hire for gaps that you're not comfortable filling

If you've been given an opportunity to speak at an event but you've not spoken in front of a crowd since high school, then you may want to hire a motivational speaker instead. As long as you give them ample time to prepare their speech and also inform them about your products, services and general business message, they'll make a much bigger impact than you could alone without ample practice. Of course, if you want to be the face of your brand then it's important to practice speaking in front of crowds so that you too can be a motivational speaker, but it's a difficult task that takes a lot of experience to master, so it's completely acceptable to hire a motivational speaker to fill in for you.

Always use social media at the event

It might not seem like a big deal, but social media can be one of the best ways to spread your name and get more people to notice your products while you're at the event. You can take videos of your products in action, pictures of your booth or even pictures of other booths at the event and Tweet them or share them on Facebook. This is a great strategy for growing your exposure on social media since you can take advantage of tags used for the event, and it helps to grow your audience and following so that you have more reach when it comes to promoting your products in the future.

Create a list of targets you want to aim for

It's important to do ample research of an event before you decide to attend it. Make sure you look at the big names that will be attending and ensure that you make a list of people that you want to speak to. For instance, if there's a well-known influencer such as a content creator attending the trade show, then you should make it a goal of yours to speak to them and have your products and services featured if it's good enough to create content from. Alternatively, you can make a list of other businesses that are direct competitors to you so that you can monitor them throughout the event.
