A girl falling in love with the wrong guy, the rake.
What it was:
The chemistry between them was SO good!
My Reactions:
I cried and then laughed because of a BEE.
My Thoughts :
I don’t think this one was as good as The Duke and I. It has a heartbreaking begining and the saddest prologue I’ve ever read. I cried. It really got to me, but JQ explains at the end of the book why she decided to do that. Colin plays a major part at this book and leaves you dying to read his book! Unfortunately, his is not the next.
MUST BE READ: If you like reformed rakes and a strong and never weak heroine! The tension rises through the book, so thrilling!
TO BE READ: You won’t be disapointed, is has to be part of your TBR list!
NOT TO BE READ: If you want this book to be better than the duke and I, wait a bit and then go back to it!

I went through three outlines for this book before I found a plot and premise that I felt worked. The story required Anthony’s father to have died about ten years before the book began, but in The Duke and I, which was completely edited (but not yet published), his father had died two years earlier. I had to go back and make all the changes while doing the final proofread of DUKE. I was terrified that I would miss a mention!
Regular readers know that I love to include animals in my books. Newton, the overweight corgi, is modeled 
after Homer, a very friendly corgi who lives on my street. Corgis, while not an officially recognized breed in Britain until the 1920s, originated in Wales during the Middle Ages. Corgis are also very popular with the royal family. Queen Elizabeth’s dogs are “dorgis,” which are corgi-dachsund mixes.

From THE VISCOUNT WHO LOVED ME, meet Kate, Lady Bridgerton (née Sheffield)
For Kate, fashion is all about economy. The Sheffields don’t have money to burn, and Kate will need to make her fashion budget go as far as possible.
I like this ensemble for Kate because it’s not too frilly and girlish. Kate might be in her first season “out,” but she has always very much seen herself as Edwina’s older sister, and she would have felt uncomfortable if she dressed in as youthful a fashion. Plus, the model here has her hand on her hip, which just seems so Kate.
These are two different dresses, but there are enough similarities that a young lady might use the same accessories (doesn’t the bonnet look the same?) Kate is practical at heart, and I like to think that even after she became the fabulously wealthy Viscountess Bridgerton, she would not have spent lavish sums of money on her wardrobe. A book makes a great accessory for a serious-minded young lady, but Kate’s actually got Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers tucked inside. (She doesn’t like to admit that she loves reading it, but trust me, if she were alive today, she’d be devouring US Weeky at the supermarket checkout line.) This dress is from 1813, but the Sheffields would not have had enough money to completely redo Kate’s and Edwina’s wardrobes in 1814. A simple day dress like this would be where they would be most likely to cut corners and economize. I adore the green, too—it’s one of the colors I chose for my website!
