On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me...poultry
Well, it's four calling birds. What else can I do really? So here are the kinds of poultry I like with a little bit about each and some nutritional information.
Duck - It's a very versatile bird. As the movie "A Christmas Story" calls it "Chinese Turkey". They are even sometimes served at Chinese Buffets as chicken. There is at least one Chinese Buffet in the Capital Region that does that. I'm not going to name any names. I'm sure they know who they are.

Goose - I had it once when I was in my tweens or early teens. I don't remember what it tasted like but I remember I really liked it.
Regular goose, not fat goose.

Chicken - The world wide classic. You can barbecue it, fry it, bake it, broil it, etc. There are even restaurant chains devoted to just Chicken. I have actually avoided Popeye's since I started WW. Maybe there's a "I'm terrified of Popeye's" post in there somewhere;) Chicken would be my favorite meat, period. Pork comes a close second.

The turkeys we eat at Thanksgiving at white. Yes. White, just like the ones they pardon at the White House every year. Isn't that some kind of false advertising?

Turducken - Ok, so I still have yet to try one. Been wanting to try one for a while. I recently saw a "Chopped" episode on Food Network where one was a "secret ingredient". It looked SO good. I merely thought it was just chicken, duck and turkey stuffed into each other. It's, according to DietFacts.com:
"a 14-pound turkey stuffed with a 5.5-pound duck stuffed with a 4-pound chicken and cornbread dressing between each bird"
Might want to tell the kids to leave the room before you read this one because of the language you might use while reading these stats.

Ok, now you can pick your jaw up off the floor. I don't think I'll be trying that one soon, but I guess once a year won't kill me.
There is so much you can do with poultry. I'm not a big red meat eater, so I love poultry. Don't know what else to say, I'm totally running out of filler. That's all folks. Hmmmm, quoting a pig in a poultry post. Isn't that a conflict of interest?
