We demand the glorious death of TV!

We do? Really?

Yes indeed, the way we watch and procure TV programmes and video content has changed for ever and traditional TV is almost gone. While we may not realize it, we are buying into a seismic shift in how our viewing matter is made, distributed and managed. As most video content is access whilst mobile we therefore should acknowledge that we have adopted an almost exclusively ‘on demand’ mentality when it comes to video content.

In many respects we have made the audio shift earlier but it has not caused so much consternation, maybe because the visual world is so impactful.

At 3rd Planet we have long said that TV is dead and have said on more than one occasion that paying attention to your video content is vital in engaging your audience and developing that all important long term conversation which bears fruit in the form of loyalty and trust…both ways!

This video is a little longer than normal but well worth the extra few moments…

Resistance is futile perhaps but this way we actually get what we want not what someone thinks we want. The massive scope and depth of the online world allows us all to enjoy otherwise ‘niche’ programming far more easily than was possible only 5 years ago. With 7 billion people on the planet, that is an awful lot of niche programming….think about it!
