Karen Gibson and The Kingdom Choir gave a powerful performance of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” right after Bishop Michael Curry preached so hard I thought for sure the shouting music was about to be que’d during the royal wedding ceremony of Harry and Meghan.
So, after Presiding Bishop Michael Curry of the Episcopal Church preached the mess out of “God Is Love,” mentioning Martin Luther King, Jr., and the balm in Gilead for oppressed people in an ancient seat of Christian power to heal the sin sick soul… Yes, he did all of that and I’m grateful. He came on heavenly business, and preached the hell out of anyone in attendance with a racist bone in their body.

After the Bishop preached the roof off the place, The Kingdom Choir came with “Stand By Me” (I could just imagine Queen Oprah in her seat saying,”Yes Harry and Meghan Yes!!)

Talk about a moment in history, they had some church at the Royal wedding… and it did my heart good to see it!
