The Juice Is Loose: O.J.’s Out Of Jail
Orenthal “O.J.” Simpson is now out of jail, a day earlier than he was rumored to be released. O.J. has completed his 9-year stint at the Nevada Correctional Center for kidnapping and armed robbery and was released a little after midnight. TMZ sez that the man whose Ford Bronco chase rang the death knell for all of my daytime stories (Erica Kane and Viki Lord Buchanan Carpenter Davidson Banks should have sued) is reportedly staying in Nevada for the time being. He hopes to eventually live in Florida but “the paperwork hasn’t been processed.” Florida’s Attorney General Pam Bondi is trying to block that move. You know you’re not exactly popular when an entire state wants you to take the long way around them, thank you. Scratch that, you KNOW you’re unpopular when FLORIDA won’t take you.
Nevada Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Keast said that O.J. met with his new best friend before he left – his parole officer.
“They went over what he needs for parole and where he needs to check in, what he should do to get a driver’s license, et cetera [and] instructions on what to do once he’s out there,” Keast said.
Didn’t the Goldmans manage to wipe him out financially with that civil suit that actually found him guilty of double murder? Either he has some Hertz cash stashed at AC’s house or he’s going to have to get a job! I’m sure the plastic gloves at a Subway would fit.
Authorities loosed The Juice in the middle of the night in order to avoid someone from the Goldman/Brown families throwing bricks a press melee.
“Our biggest concern was our safety and the public’s safety and not wanting anybody, paparazzi, to follow him,” Keast said. “He left through a big blue door through the front gatehouse and exited quietly. He looked down because he didn’t want to be photographed.”
TMZ says that prison officials gave O.J. the standard goodbye when an inmate is freed.
“I told him, ‘Don’t come back,’ and he responded, ‘I don’t intend to,’ ” she said. “He was upbeat, personable and seemed happy to get on with his life.”
You can watch OJ keeping his head down and exiting the prison below. Golf is the love of O.J.’s life, so expect to see him on a course near you. Hopefully, he won’t attack his caddie for not fetching the nine-iron quickly enough.
