The Governors Ball has released an announcement today. It's not the lineup. Today's announcement includes VIP program updates, site improvements and new festival age policies for patrons under 18.
First, let's get this out of the way. Lineup clues and holiday pre-sale details are coming in December.
This is a big year for the festival, who are heading into their 10th year!
Based on feedback from previous festival-goers, this year's festival will include site and experience improvements including additional water stations, and a larger focus on general site cleanliness. This means more trash and recycling areas, easier to find trash bins and engaging sustainability initiatives that encourage participation.
New Age Policy
New this year is a policy on attendee age. For 2020, all persons 18 and over will require valid proof of ID is for entry. All persons aged 17 and under MUST attend with an adult who is 21 or older.
Each adult must have a valid form of ID and may accompany up to TWO ticket holders aged 17 or younger. A full breakdown of the new age policy and acceptable forms of ID can be found at GovBall.com/newagepolicy.

VIP TICKETING OPTIONS
Governors Ball has also made changes to its VIP program for 2020. Added to the previous access to VIP viewing areas which feature up-close prime viewing, comfy seating, shade tents, special food vendors, cell phone charging stations, massage services, beer, wine and liquor bars, and other amenities VIP guests are used to, new upgrades to the VIP ticket package include:
- Air-conditioned, flushable bathrooms with dedicated attendants
- A private wi-fi network available at 2 of the 4 VIP viewing areas
- A separate fast lane at ferry docks and shuttle pick-up points
- Free shipping
- Free water at all VIP areas

New this year is VIP Luxe. This new program includes all of the above plus the exclusivity of a luxury suite experience.
