The Desert Treasure 2 Beta Rewards Are Worth Tons of OSRS GP

Posted on the 07 June 2023 by Nicolas

Here’s all you need to know about the Desert Treasure 2 rewards beta.

Old School RuneScape has many ways to make OSRS gold, but many players kill bosses or raid to obtain them. This is because many bosses have precious drops, which can add up quite a lot. However, many bosses are locked behind high levels that you'll need to grind for decent gear and sometimes even quests, so it’s not surprising to see other players get OSRS accounts just to have a chance to do them.

What Makes Desert Treasure 2 Unique

There are already three grandmaster quests in OSRS, each giving you access to various money-making techniques. For example, Dragon Slayer 2 will give you access to Vorkath, a great boss for OSRS GP, and Monkey Madness 2 will give you access to demonic gorillas hunted for their valuable drops. Song of the Elves will give you access to a whole city, Prifdinas, which is especially useful for Ironman accounts, but also suitable for anyone who wants to get OSRS gold with the corrupted gauntlet.

The upcoming Grandmaster quests, Dessert Treasure 2, will give you access to not one but four repeatable bosses, which you can kill for a profit. For some items, you will need to kill all four bosses, while for other rewards, you can camp only 1 boss. On top of this, you'll be able to access an entirely new prayer book just by finishing the quest, where you'll encounter, for the very first time, each of these 4 bosses. If you're curious, you can try any of these bosses in the beta world, and you’ll get them in your inventory as soon as you swap to a beta world.

The Ruinous Powers

The Ruinous Powers is the first alternative prayer book proposed for Old School RuneScape. Even though some of the Prayers were abandoned, it contains 23 different Prayers. It mainly represents an upgrade compared to the standard Prayer book, even though Jagex originally intended it as an alternative and not an upgrade.

Best-in-slot Rings

One of the rewards you’ll be able to obtain from one of the respective bosses is best-in-slot rings that have even higher stats than the imbued rings you can currently get from the Dagannoth Kings as non-imbued drops and then imbue using nightmare zone points or Soulwars points. The new rings will give you the best possible stats for the ring slot, and they will somehow involve the Dagannoth drops so that they remain relevant as the second-best in-slot items.

Ancient Sceptre Upgrades

Jagex has started filling the gap between the Ancient Staff and the Master Staff regarding weapons that can auto-cast the Ancient Magicks spell, which you can find in the Ancient Spellbook. You can unlock this alternative spellbook by completing Desert Treasure 1 because only a few weapons can auto-cast these spells. With the Phantom Muspah, Jagex has put the first stone when filling this gap. Desert Treasure 2 is taking things to the next level by providing a few upgrades to the Ancient Sceptre.

You’ll be able to wield the upgraded staff version if your Magic level is at least 75 and you have 60 Strength and 50 Attack; the same levels are also needed for the basic version of the Sceptre.

Soulreaper Axe

A great reward you can obtain by killing all bosses is a fascinating melee weapon that works with stacks you’ll get each time you hit with it. Consuming the stacks will increase your strength based on how many stacks you have. You’ll need level 80 Attack and 80 Strength to use it, and you must have killed each boss at least once to obtain it.

Virtus Robes

These magic robes will be a niche content magic armor set that you'll need 75 Defence and 80 Magic to use. To obtain the Virtus robes, you will need to kill all four bosses, as each of them will drop an independent piece which you will then need to combine with the pieces obtained from the other three bosses. All of the pieces of the Virtus robes are tradeable, so you’ll be able to obtain OSRS GP by selling them or just spend your OSRS gold to obtain them without actually killing any of the bosses.
